LEE BARENDS
Co-Owner of ITL Accounting &
Tax Service Inc - Lee's accounting experience goes back to 1984
when she became the Accounting Assistant to a local radio station
in Fayetteville, N.C. Since then she has practiced under a
local well-established tax preparer and in 1997 became an Independent
Bookkeeper & Tax Consultant. In 2002 she became an Enrolled Agent.
An Enrolled Agent is a person who has earned the privilege of
practicing, that is, representing taxpayers, before the Internal
Revenue Service, Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public
accountants (CPAs), are generally unrestricted as to which taxpayers
they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and
which IRS offices they can practice before. In contrast, practice
before the IRS is much more limited for other individuals such as
unenrolled tax return preparers, family members, full time employees,
partners, and corporate officers. This title will allow her to
better serve our clients in the event that representation may be needed.
Lee and her
husband Tim have been married since 1986 and have 2 wonderful
sons, T.J. & Josh. They attend The Mission International
Church right across from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond,
La.
