Lee is a veteran to the accounting world that dates back to 1984. She admits that the color mango or orange yellow from the Crayola Crayon box make her smile. Lee would rather incorporate these colors into her wardrobe instead of her office walls, with hopes that other people can’t help but smile too.
            Lee Barends is determined and lively.  She is the master mind behind ITL. Lee is the perfect example of an established Enrolled Agent who does not fit the look and mindset of an accounting and tax provider that is stiff and cold. As an Enrolled Agent, she is a secret agent, no really!  (See the definition for EA below.) Lee’s Top Five List of Daring Adventures does not include being an Enrolled Agent, but number two on her list is zip lining through the tropical forest of St. Maarten!
            The Barends family includes their two sons, T.J. and Josh, daughter-in-law, Chelsea. Lee’s most desired location to be is any deserted island with her husband, Tim.
            If Lee were to ever write a book, it would be titled, “Oh Yes, You Can!” This is the type of attitude that is required to handle your financial and consulting situations.

What is an "Enrolled Agent"?
An Enrolled Agent (or EA) is a tax professional recognized by the United States federal government to represent taxpayers in dealings with the Internal Revenue Service. To become an enrolled agent an applicant must pass the Special Enrollment Examination or present evidence of qualifying experience as an IRS employee.
